Places to See in Paris

What do you think about when someone mentions Paris? Many would say the Eiffel Tower or the Louvre.  But, there are many other places to visit and sights to see.  Some other spots are The Palace of Versailles, the Arc de Triumph, Musée de l’Armée (a.k.a. The Army Mueseum) and Norte Dame.  These are some beautiful sights to see in Paris.

The Arc de Triumph looks empty because there was a famous bike race called the Tour de France passing through and all of the streets were blocked.  I got a photo clear of any people.  Normally, there’s a ton of traffic and people everywhere!

Now, if you choose to go to Notre Dame, I highly recomend to do at least one other sight that day, like a boat ride on the Seine River.  Notre Dame is a beautiful cathedral off of the Seine River.  The Seine River boat ride is a bit expensive, but it’s a great way to see a lot of Paris and not have to walk seven or eight miles.  A different sight to see that day might also be a walk on the Champs-Élysées where The Arch de Triumph is located.  The Champs-Élysées is a shopping and dining district.

The Palace of Versailles is about an hour away from Paris. It has amazing gardens and beautiful artwork on the inside of the palace.  There is a manmade waterfall, just beyond the garden.  As a travel tip – the trip is tiring and I recomend good walking shoes, as there’s a lot of walking long distances.  Also, don’t wear hot clothes, because there isn’t any air conditioning inside the palace.   That will probably be the only tour for the day, because its a few hours to get there and back.

The Louvre is a famous museum that almost everyone has heard of.  The mueseum is many rooms of famous art by Picasso, Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo , Eugène Delacroix, Raphael, and many more.  When I got to the Louvre, I was astounded at how many pieces of famous artwork I had seen before in books and television were really here, right before my eyes!

The museum is honestly so much bigger than I thought it would be.  The Louvre is such a large mueseum, that it will take a couple of days to see everything!  Just think about how much time and effort these artists had to go through, to make these beautiful paintings and sculptures.

On a different day, I recommend seeing the Eiffel Tower and going inside of it.  On the second level,  the view is practically all of Paris.  There is a park right in front of the Eiffel Tower.  Tourists can have a picnic there or just take a nice walk.

This of course is the Eiffel Tower

I hope someday others can have the privilege to experience these amazing sights.  My wish is that you learned something new from my blog.

Thak you,

Gabby
